My club had a WW2 Bolt Rifle Match yesterday, and I shot my 1903 Springfield. We shot a variation of the National Match course, with 10 rounds off hand in 10 minutes, 10 rounds sitting in 90 seconds, 10 rounds prone in 2 minutes, finishing with a 20 round slow prone stage. I [...]

The Perfect AR?
Posted in Guns on March 22, 2008 | Leave a Comment »

Based on the highly accurate 6PPC, the 6.5 Grendel lets you use heavier (but shorter) 140 grain 6.5mm bullets [...]
I’ve been shooting my VTR a lot, but I’m also looking to add another semi-automatic rifle to my collection. If you like going prairie dog hunting in ninja outfits, this is apparently the rifle for you (well, not sure ninjas are tactical, but you get the idea). Anyway, let’s take a closer look at this ninja rifle.
What happens when you shoot a can?

Duh. The can goes flying spectacularly, of course!
Well, that’s what I expected when I shot tin cans with my Remington 700 VTR at the local range, and boy, was I disappointed. Now, I’m not a great marksman, but I’d just spent an hour or so consistently shooting <2 MOA groups at 100yds, so [...]
