This is Ryo’s new blog. For those of you who don’t know me, I’m a code writin’, gun totin’, food eatin’ liberal-thinking dude living in Silicon Valley. In case you couldn’t tell from that big title up there, this here blog is about my 3 main interests: tech, guns and food.
Update: Actually, this is basically a gun blog. If you want to read non-gun-related stuff, check out my other blog, which, ironically, is called Laptop and a Rifle.
Tech
I worked in Silicon Valley as a code monkey for nearly 4 years at Yahoo! and Google. I quit in March of ’09, and you can read what’s happened since in my other blog.
Guns
I like guns and I enjoy shooting. I shoot informal CMP service rifle matches once or twice a month with a local club, and I’d probably classify as a “sharpshooter” (400-450 out of 500). You can see my collection over in my “Gun Porn” post.
Food
I like to eat, and I like to cook. Um… yeah, not much more to say on that.
Nice explanation of all of your guns. Hopefully, burglars will not figure out where you live.
Hi, found your AR bolt rifle by mistake, where can I get one? is it single shot?
John
thanks
Just stumbled across your blog. I am also a .260 enthusiast and chose it for many of the same reasons. I built my gun on a savage varminter platform, but with a 30″ target barrel. Fun stuff.
I’m barely getting into the whole reloading sphere but have aquired manual scale press etc. looking toward necking up .243 lapua brass but not ready yet. Would love any reloading advice. I’m planning to give it a try with some VV N560 powder.
Maybe see you if you shoot at sac valley range sometime.
Take care,
Trev
Whut uP^ code monkey. That’s whacked. Never heard that kind of description for a code writer but then, what the eff do I know about pseudocode.
So Ryo: do you have any idea as to how the legislation affects those who are involved with re-loading? I’ve been wondering about trying to go there because I shoot .35 remington rounds which are hella hard to find. And check this…Marlin is like pumping out their Model 336 like crazy and what’s a rifle worth without the ammo.
I haven’t bounced anything to Arnie Cigary yet, but I have emailed the local Police Chief here in Truckee and he’s so busy he hasn’t any info about AB 962. There are only two places in this ‘ski-town’ that sell ammo and they don’t even have a clue.
Good intentions screw things up. Keeping ammo from reaching bangers is ethically and morally okay, but as to the remainder of those who aren’t bangers…we should not have to suffer.
Thanks for the information. Peace out dude!
Are you blogging still? There has not been an update for a while.
